THE GIVEAWAY IS NOW CLOSED, THANK YOU TO ALL WHO ENTERED. WINNERS WILL BE ANNOUNCED SHORTLY.
This year I decided to join together with bloggers from around the world and join One World, One Heart. What is One World, One Heart? Lisa created this event in 2007. The original idea behind this giveaway event was to bringbloggers together from around the world who may never ordinarily meet. 2007 had roughly 85-90 participants and many connections were made because of it……friendships that are still going strong.
OWOH had a strong showing the first year for sure, and then in 2008 we had just about tripled that number. This year we will have well over 600 participants.
I will be giving away my Ornament Thursday cuff bracelet for this giveaway.
To win my creation, all you have to do is comment here. That’s it! If you have a blog I will post there if you are the winner, if you do not, though, I will have no way of contacting you unless you leave your email address in your comment. (When in doubt, put your email in the comment.) This contest will close February 10th and the winner will be announced Feb 12th so get your comments in soon!
I will be offering a second giveaway to anyone who wants to be added to my email list. If you would like to be added please say so in your comment along with the email address you would like the emails to go to. You will hear from me no more than once a week and I never give away or sell my list. Thank you!

This year we are using colors for our themes and the color for January is light blue or Celeste. This one was a hard one for me because light blue isn’t really a color I play with much. I prefer jewel tone and bright colors. Then as I looked at the word Celeste I started thinking of celestial skies and blue summery skies. With it being so bitterly cold here in Wisconsin I thought I would create something sunny and warm, the way I wish things would be. So along came this polymer clay cuff bracelet. With the bright sun, sail boats, and palm tree it is a symbol of what I wish our weather would be like right now.
Come check out our other bloggers and see what they have done. http://www.ornamentthursday.blogspot.com/

For those of you who don’t buy finished jewelry because you make your own I have a lovely goddess bead for you. Normally she would sell for $25 but this week she can be yours for $15 plus shipping. She stands 32mm high, has a 12mm waist, and was created on a 1/16″ mandrel. She’s got a cz decorating her belly button and was created from a marvelously streaky multi-toned glass. If you are interested in her or have any questions about this bead email me at heather@squareonebeads.com.

Here is the special for this week. Its another caterpillar bracelet since I received so many nice emails regarding the first one. This one is a simpler one and would typically sell for $45. This week it can be yours for $30 plus shipping. It is 8.5″ long and will fit a 7.5-8″ wrist comfortably. It also features a button handmade by me.

If you are interested in this piece email me at heather@squareonebeads.com. Act fast because there is only one and next Sunday the deal will be over.
If you are more interested in beads than in finished jewelry come back tomorrow when I will list a bead special for the week.

Regardless of your political beliefs, I hope you will agree with me that it is very cool to live in a country where the transition of power is handled in such a calm, peaceful, and orderly fashion.
I’ve spent the day watching the inauguration today and have been deeply moved at the outpouring of support President Obama has received. He’s got a hard road ahead of him but if we can all keep that in mind and maintain our current level of support I am sure he can do great things this term.
May the winds of fate blow gently on his back.

SALE PENDING
I’ve decided to start something new on my blog. Every week or so I will post a new piece of jewelry here at a special price. The price will be valid until either the item sells or I post the next item so if you see something you like act fast. It may not be available for long.
Here is the first piece. This is a caterpillar bracelet made using the technique in my tutorial I blogged about earlier.
This bracelet will fit a 7″ or smaller wrist. The button was hand made out of polymer clay and set with one of the flowers from the bracelet. This is a substantial piece that will get you lots of complements.
The blog special price is $50. I normally sell the ornate caterpillar bracelets like this for $75 so if you like it act fast.
Email me at heather@squareonebeads.com if you would like to purchase this bracelet or if you have any questions about this piece.

For all of you who have asked I have finally completed my Caterpillar Fringe Bracelet tutorial. You can find it on my site here for $15. And for those of you who don’t know what a Caterpillar Fringe Bracelet is, it is this -

It is very fun and soft to wear and not nearly as complicated to make as it appears. I hope all of you who chose to buy the tutorial enjoy creating your bracelet as well as wearing it.

It’s Ornament Thursday time again and we are making Christmas Ornaments! Christmas is my favorite time of year and I know for many of you it is yours too. I love Christmas trees but to me for some reason, a Poinsettia has always said Christmas more than a tree has. So to honor my childhood memories of grandmas house bedecked in poinsettias I have created this ornament. A polymer clay poinsettia on a background of sparkly ’snow’. I hope you like it!

Don’t forget to visit the Ornament Thursday main blog and check out everyone’s pieces for this week.

I have joined a group called Ornament Thursday. The last Thursday of the month we all blog about a particular theme and create something to go along with that theme. The theme for October is Gratitude.
I am tying my creation with the fact that October is also Breast Cancer Awareness month. I don’t have breast cancer and neither do my mother or sister, and I am unbelievably grateful for that. However, should I or a loved one of mine develop breast cancer I am very grateful for foundations like The Susan G. Komen Foundation and Army of Women. These two foundations are working to cure breast cancer and I hope you take the time to view these two sites and help in any way you can.
To demonstrate my gratitude I made a set of breast beads. The proceeds from the sale of the beads will go to The Army of Women. You can buy the beads on my website.

My friend Kaye Husko tagged me today. This tag works by my posting 7 facts about myself and then tagging 7 more crafty friends. So here we go -
1) I bowl in a Guys and Gals winter league. We bowl every other week so it goes from September to April.
2) I started a new job as an esthetician last week and really like it. I work at Oasis Salon and Spa in Watertown, WI, doing facials, body waxing, and makeup. I took my state board exams on the 7th and haven’t gotten the results back yet. I am going nuts to find out for sure if I passed, I’m sure I did but until I get confirmation I am going to continue to go nuts about it
3) I am a huge fan of Dr. Who and Torchwood. I also really like Top Gear. All three of these shows are on BBC America and sometimes it seems like we watch more British television than American television.
4) I am addicted to trying new artistic media. I am teaching myself oil painting and am starting to use borosilicate glass in my lampworking. Every time I go to the craft store something else reaches out to me and whispers “Try me, try me, you know you want me.” And I am weak, I give in to that voice quite frequently.
5) When I try a new artistic media I am not happy with it until I find a way to combine it with at least one other media I am already working with. Right now I’m combining my oil painting with polymer clay and glasswork.
6) My puppy Spike has decided that the trash is just a new toy box for him and it is driving me crazy. I have no idea how to get him to stop, this is not something my other dog Summer ever did so I am at a loss on how to deal with it. If anyone has any ideas I would appreciate it.
7) I spend way to much time on the computer. I like to chat with friends and play games, in addition to the computer work I do for my jewelry business and for my job. Sometimes I feel like the keyboard is attached to my fingers.
So, that is 7 things about me. Some you might know, some might be new to you. I am tagging the following friends -
